The FR1250 is a high output, high fidelity full range two-way system with a passive crossover in a compact trapezoidal enclosure. It features an LF section with two 10" direct-radiating cone drivers and an HF section with a one-inch exit compression driver on a 1200 x 500 medium-format constant-directivity horn.It employs an optimized passive crossover with 4th-order acoustic slopes to integrate both the on-axis and off-axis (power response) characteristics of the HF and LF sections.

The directivity characteristic of the LF section has been tailored to match the precision pattern control of the HF constant directivity horn, resulting in a uniform beamwidth at the crossover point and effective vertical pattern control down to 700 Hz. Thus, the loudspeaker exhibits a very wide, symmetrical horizontal response and an unusually stable and uniform coverage pattern in both the horizontal and vertical planes. The unit is also available for bi-amplified configurations without its internal passive crossover, as the model FR1250-B.

Applications

The FR1250 is designed for applications where a very wide coverage, high fidelity medium-throw system is required. The FR1250 is designed to suit a wide range of permanent installation applications. System designers find that the uniform coverage pattern of this single high output loudspeaker is far superior to that of a seamed array of higher-Q devices.

Architectural Specifications

The two-way full range loudspeaker shall incorporate a one-inch HF compression driver mounted on a medium format constant directivity horn with a nominal coverage pattern of 1200 horizontal and 500 vertical, and two 10-inch LF cone drivers. The LF drivers shall bemounted in an optimally tuned, vented enclosure, and shall be oriented to produce increased directivity on the vertical axis. Monimal system pattern control shall be maintainted down to a frequency of 700 Hz. A passive filter network shall be employed to provide a crossover with 24 dB/octave acoustic slopes and system equalization.

System frequency response shall vary no more than +/- 3 dB from 55 Hz to 17 kHz measured on axis. The loudspeaker shall produce a Sound Pressure Level (SPL) of 98 dB on axis at one meter with an input of one watt, and shall be capable of producing a peak output of 129 dB on axis at one meter. The loudspeaker shall handle 500 watts of amplifier power (AES standard) and shall have a nominal impedance of 6 ohms.

The loudspeaker enclosure shall be trapezoidal in shape. It shall be constructed from19mm void-free multi-ply hardwood plywood anbd shall employ extensive internal bracing. It shall be available in a black or white textured polyurethane finish. The input connector shall be a Speakon NL4. Eight (8) 3/8"-16 threaded mounting points shall be provided in the enclosure top, back and bottom. The loudspeaker baffle shall be covered with a perforated steel grill, with a fabric-wrapped MDF grill available as an option.

The loudspeaker shall be Innovox Audio model FR1250.
