Venue: Congressional Office buildings, Washington, DC
Designer: Cosentini Associates, New York, NY
Installer: American Systems Corporation, Reston, VA
This is a multi-phase installation of a massive voice-evac system for various Federal government office buildings on Capitol Hill. Our SF104 speaker has been chosen for over 300 locations within this installation, replacing JBL Control 24 ceiling speakers. At less than 2 inches thick, the SF104 allows installation directly on the ceiling panels without cutting holes or requiring space above the panel or tile. And, of course, it provides superb vocal clarity, a key requirement in this application.
Venue: Bohemian Club
Designer: Arup Acoustics, San Francisco, CA
Installer: Black Boxes Incorporated, San Francisco, CA
The Bohemian Club boasts an extremely elite membership of business and political leaders. The club’s Northern California location has exquisite architectural details that required extraordinary attention to maintain while providing world-class audio performance. Arup Acoustics, working with LARES Associates, specified our LIN-250 low-profile speaker (typically used for LARES projects) to be installed behind architectural grillework. Thirty-six LIN-250s were installed at the club by Black Boxes Incorporated of San Francisco.
Venue: The Modern Restaurant at MOMA, New York, NY
Designer: SIA Acoustics, New York, NY
Installer: Ed Simon Associates, Pittsburgh, PA
A variety of speakers, both custom and standard SoundFrames, went into this upscale eatery attached to the famed New York Museum of Modern Art. Twenty-seven LT204 speakers, based on our SF204 but with beefed-up low end and a beveled baffle shape, were installed in special ceiling troughs that also held recessed lighting and HVAC details. Three SB45 subwoofers and 14 high-performance FR-625V ceiling-mount speakers rounded out the installation. As is often the case, Innovox pulled out all the stops to meet a deadline that was moved up as the project progressed and Opening Day drew near. |
